NetBSD 1.0 (1994)

A Unix that refused to stay on one kind of computer. NetBSD grew out of BSD with portability as one of its big ideas: keep one source tree running across very different machines.

NetBSD 1.0 arrived in 1994 and brought several hardware platforms together in its first official multi-platform release. This is the only system in the exhibition running on commodity PC-compatible hardware: an emulated Intel i486 with 32 MB of RAM.
